The 4th Sunday of Easter is often observed as “Shepherd Sunday” or “The Good Shepherd Sunday” because the lectionary text each year comes from Jesus teaching in John 10 paired with the 23rd Psalm. As familiar as this image of Jesus as the good shepherd is, it still holds power and possibilities for us today–as we are often like sheep needing a guide as we are divided over many issues and wandering, even becoming adrift in dangerous places of division, anger and exclusion.
Join us this Sunday, April 21, as we consider what it means to be part of one fold that belongs to Jesus, the good shepherd, as we love and welcome our neighbors in all their diversity.
