As we near the end of the Jesus Does it Matter series we look at how Jesus defied the cultural expectations of his time. He was not the military or political leader that many had hoped for. And yet if you look at the descriptions of the Messiah from Isaiah and other OT texts we see quite a different portrait, one that Jesus fits into very well. Plus we’ll hear one of our favorite contemporary songs that echoes these themes.

Weather professionals describe a set of conditions for what they call a “perfect” storm – that is what Jesus was a part of 2000 years ago – and it also can happen in our lives today.
