White Plains UMC Children’s Ministry
Equipping families to grow together on their journey to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.
Children at White Plains UMC are highly valued members of our congregation, engaging with us in worship, Bible study, and family events. We seek to offer our children a loving environment that teaches the Word of God and gives them the opportunity to grow, play, and learn together as part of the family of God. Providing Child Care is an important part of all worship services and most congregational events.
On Sunday mornings we offer Sunday School, Children’s Choir, Kid’s Club, and Nursery Care for children from infants to 5th grade, and JAM (Jesus and Me) on Sunday evenings. For youth in grades 6-12, we invite them to be a part of our Youth Ministry.

Please note that in order to take care of our children in the best way possible we require a yearly registration including family and health information. Visitors will be asked to fill out a visitor card. All children must be signed in and wear a name badge. We invite you to learn more about our Safe Sanctuaries Policy and how we are committed to best practices to protect children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
Children’s Ministry Programs
Kid’s Club | Sundays @ 9:45 – 11:00 am
Before Sunday School while parents are in worship or Adult Sunday School, we invite children ages preschool through 5th grade to join us for Kid’s Club! Activities will include games, videos, and crafts.
Sunday School | Sundays @ 11:00 am
Sunday School is held at 11:00 am in person in the Children’s Wing for ages preschool through 5th grade. Children are welcomed into their own hour of worship! Together they experience worship through song, puppets, crafts, and bible stories in a more relaxed, informal setting.
Children’s Choir | Sundays During Sunday School
During the Sunday School hour, we offer Children’s Choir for those who want to use their voices to praise the Lord in song!
Vacation Bible School

JAM (Jesus and Me)
JAM is a time for our elementary school-age children to gather for fellowship, prayer, and teaching. JAM encourages young people to learn more about their faith and become more involved in a spiritual life.JAM meets on Sunday evenings from 5:00-7:00 pm. Dinner is served for a cost of $4 per person.

Meet Michele, our Children’s Ministry Coordinator!
Michele joined White Plains as the Coordinator of Children’s Ministries in 2016 and has worked in children’s ministry for 20 years. Her passion for children’s ministry comes from knowing that children are important to God and a blessing from God. She believes that a partnership between the family and the church leads to community and peer support from infancy through adulthood. Everyone is connected through the family of God and all are one with Christ. Learn more about Michele here.
