ADVENT CLASS
Couples and singles ages 60+ (but we are happy to make exceptions for younger ones!) who are very active and very young at heart. Many are empty nesters and grandparents. They enjoy engaging in Bible studies (including the “With-God Life” study), video-based studies, and current issues. Missions include WPUMC Food Pantry, Back Packs/School Supplies, WP Children’s Center, White Christmas, and financial support of various missions. Fellowship activities include a New Year’s Eve celebration, Super Bowl party, spring beach retreat, Christmas party, seasonal socials, and Advent Ladies’ night out.

BIBLE STUDY CLASS
We are a class of Mature Single, Widowed, and Married Couples. We are parents and grandparents. We do in-depth studies of the Bible and have great discussions on which ever book we are studying at the time. Homework is reading the chapters in the Bible of the book we are presently studying. We also enjoy participating in the church-wide studies of the Church. Our goal is to deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ through the study of His word. We support the Missions of WPUMC and the Community. Fellowship activities include a Christmas Brunch and pot-luck or catered socials for special occasions. If you are looking for a Sunday School Class we would love to have you come and be a part of our Church Family.

CLOSER WALK CLASS
Closer Walk is a mixed group of singles and couples (ages 40’s and up), but all are welcome, regardless of age. Focus is on Jesus, through Bible study, teaching, and application. Closer Walk is a close, supportive fellowship that cares not only for each other but also participates in various service projects throughout the community. The class enjoys planned socials such as picnics, cookouts, and holiday parties, weekly Wednesday morning coffee gatherings, and other social activities and outings. New members are loved and welcome.

DAILY WALK CLASS
Mostly couples and singles with grown children. Discussion-based format with a variety of lesson materials that explore applying Scripture to daily life. Missions include ASP, Church on the Street, Discovery, youth programs, and Cary Methodist Fair Booth. Fellowship activities include a Christmas party and supper clubs that include class members and other friends.

EPIPHANY CLASS
A mixed group (ages 40’s – 70’s), married, single, parents with and without children, and Christians from various religious backgrounds. Discussion-oriented studies are focused on Bible study and applied Christian principles. The class has strong ties to Seeds of Love Hispanic and Harvest of Love tutoring programs and helps coordinate White Christmas activities. Fellowship activities include gatherings/parties quarterly, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings.

FRIENDS CLASS
Couples and singles, (ages ’50s-’80s). Studies focus on Scripture and a wide range of Biblical resources. Rotating teachers provide a variety of styles, all with class discussion. The class supports numerous Missions including missionaries, Kairos prison ministry, Gideons, World Vision, and others. Class members have weekly meal outings and other fellowship activities and socials throughout the year. Visitors are always welcome to join the class for snacks, coffee, fellowship, and study on Sundays, beginning with snacks at 9:00 am.

JOURNEY CLASS
Married couples and singles (ages mid-20’s – mid 40’s). Many have children in middle school or younger. They enjoy video-based studies, discussion, and fellowship. The group is very active in supporting and participating in church-wide activities, including the WPCC Kick-off Carnival, Fall Festival, Palm Sunday Celebration, ASP lunches, and other church events. Additional fellowship activities include after-church lunches and a Christmas party.

LUZ DEL PUEBLO CLASS
Spanish language class for men and women of all ages. Many are adults raising children. Studies such as “El Metodista Pregunta, El Metodista Responde” and many other Bible-guided studies, and lessons that follow the liturgical seasons of the year. Members enjoy getting to know each other better through many fellowship activities throughout the year. Community members, Seeds and Harvest of Love families, and church members are invited to share in the studies and church activities.

NEW HORIZONS CLASS
Single adults and couples (ages 40’s-50’s), many with children of all ages. The group enjoys discussion and short-term studies focusing on topical subjects and life applications, using engaging tools such as workbooks and videos. Missions include sending care packages to college kids and many volunteer activities within the church and community. They enjoy such fellowship activities as summer lake outings, Christmas potlucks, Super Bowl festivities, dinner outings at restaurants, guys’ night out, ladies movie night out, and life and grief support.

ROOM TO GROW CLASS
A mixed group of couples and singles of all ages (ages 30’s – 70’s). They do a variety of DVD-based studies. Missions include doing Church on the Streets projects together, serving Family Promise guests, and serving at the Community Thanksgiving dinner. They have socials twice a year, usually at Christmas and in spring/summer. Room To Grow was formed from a group of folks who were not involved in a Sunday School class, and they continue to invite new guests.

SALT (Sharing and Learning Together)
Empty nesters and grandparents, some retired (ages 50’s – 70’s), who enjoy Biblically-based studies using contemporary reading and video material. Members are very active serving on committees and supporting the activities of WPUMC. Missions include Discovery, Church on The Street, and other missions with an international flavor. We support various ministries such as the WPUMC Children’s Center, DORCAS Ministries, the Methodist Home for Children, and many more. During-class fellowship opportunities include Easter brunch, and Mother’s and Father’s Day brunches. Outside-of-class social events include quarterly socials, special events, and a Christmas party.

SEARCHERS – PATHFINDERS CLASS
The Pathfinders and Searchers classes are the two original WPUMC adult Sunday school classes. In February 2025 these classes merged. The combined class is a lively group of singles and couples in their 70’s to 90’s. Our Bible-based studies cover scripture, history, Christian principles, and other relevant topics. These studies include many well-known Christian authors, and we rely on video presentations and group discussions. This class supports many church-wide programs as well as external Christian activities.
Fellowship opportunities include picnics, social activities, concerts and holiday gatherings. As a class, we have developed a deep family-type relationship with our fellow classmates. We have been able to provide emotional and physical support during times of sorrow and joy. We welcome the opportunity to have new members.
Our class location, upper level of the CLC, requires no stair-climbing, and is very accessible for anyone with mobility issues. Come visit.
