White Plains Youth lead and participate in Worship in a number of ways. From retreats to Sunday nights, many of our UMYF programs incorporate moving worship experiences. Youth serve as ushers and greeters in our Sunday services as well as in the following ways:
Youth Choir:
Our Youth Choir leads the 8:20AM worship Sunday almost every Sunday. The youth Choir is directed by Bert Fox and rehearses from 6:45 - 8:00PM on Wednesday nights during the traditional school year. All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to come and sing!
Orchestra:
Youth can audition for our main Sanctuary Orchestra which rehearses at 4PM on Sundays in the Sanctuary.
New Spirit:
New Spirit is our auditioned youth praise team and band. Auditions are held in August and rehearsals are on Tuesday nights. New Spirit leads worship at our contemporary service several times a year. Contact Bert Fox or Rob Phillips for more info.
Youth Handbells:
Our youth handbell choir the Sanctuary Ringers rehearses on Wednesday nights at 8PM after youth choir. Beth Laverty is the director and the group plays multiple times during the school year.
Hands for God Puppet Ministry:
Our Puppet Ministry performs inside and outside of our Church crossing over from Worship to Outreach. The Puppets meet on Thursday nights and are led by a dedicated team of adult volunteers. For more information contact Erica Cecich
