Step 1: Read through our Vision and Mission, Values, and Beliefs statements.
Step 2: After reading through and considering our Mission, Vision and Values at WPUMC, if you would like to pursue membership please contact Lorrinda Janik, Coordinator of Adult, Lay and Family Ministries at 467-9394 or via email at adults(at)wpumc.org. Please feel free to also contact Rev. Regine Jean Baptiste, Pastor of Membership Care and Evangelism at ascpastor(at)wpumc.org. They will guide you through the next steps of the process.
Step 3: You will need to complete at least one of these 4 options (you may find it helpful to follow through with more than one option):
- Option A—For persons new to Christianity we provide the ALPHA Course. ALPHA is a 10 week course that begins with dinner at 6:30pm on Monday nights. For the next course or more information contact Rev. Regine Jean Baptiste or email: alphawhiteplains(at)earthlink.net.
- Option B—For persons coming from other denominations or who need to brush up on what it means to be United Methodist there is class called THE BASICS. The BASICS Class is a 4 week course held on Sunday evenings from 5-7pm on the Doctrine, Ministry and Mission of The United Methodist Church. This class is offered at least twice a year for the next course or more information contact Rev. Regine Jean Baptiste at ascpastor(at)wpumc.org.
- Option C—For an orientation to the White Plains Congregation we offer W2WP: Welcome To White Plains Coffee Hours periodically throughout the year on Sunday afternoons at 4pm in the Hospitality Room.
- Option D—Pastoral Consultation
Step 4: In consultation with a ministry team member (from step 2 above) or the pastors, complete your membership paperwork and make a commitment of your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness before the congregation on a Sunday morning.
